UM-1

Role

UM-1 will be the leader of WP7 . UM-1 will thus organize and oversee the quality control of all laboratory aspects of the study. This will include CareHPV testing, HPV DNA testing, cytology, histology, HIV and STI results. To this end UM-1 will organize standardised training of African Partners, regular supervision, supply of proficiency panels and will write the SOPs to undertake testing and will carry out repeat testing to a specified number of tests depending on test. In addition, the Virology laboratory of UM-1 will undertake the timely testing of HR-HPV genotypes in samples from Burkina Faso; whilst the pathology laboratory will perform cytology and histology quality control, as well as coordinate the Study Endpoints Committee, which will comprise of all the pathologists in the HARP study.

Key personnel

Dr Nicolas Nagot MD PhD, Site PI & Co-investigator: a clinical epidemiologist at U1058 who will coordinate UM-1 inputs for the Consortium regarding study design and implementation with particular reference to the Burkina Faso site (CRIS-UO). He will participate in the design, planning and implementation of the study, will be involved in overseeing the quality control testing and will help conduct analyses and dissemination of results.
