Event: AFRAVIH 2014 in Montpellier, France (27 to 30 April 2014)
7th scientific meeting of the "HIV/Hepatitis conference for Francophones" (AFRAVIH 2014)
In keeping with this tradition, the 7th Francophone Conference on HIV and Hepatitis is intended as a forum for scientific exchange between North and South. But across geographical distances, the specificity of the Francophone Conference is to go to a community that shares a common language and values allowing for exchange of three additional records:
- Sharing of scientific knowledge, update knowledge of their limits; update our uncertainties and areas of research in which the work must be guided and supported. Each conference is open to a possible encyclopedic understanding of the epidemic. Allow everyone to locate his practice in the context of the widest possible scientific, social and political understanding of the epidemic through the different angles of observation and analysis that offer various scientific disciplines: biology, therapeutics, epidemiology, public health, anthropology, and political.
- Sharing experiences in an educational approach to improve the practice of care, taking into daily medical and social care for patients , to guide public health strategies.
- Sharing a commitment to a common cause that founded a community. Gather and lead the French business community who fight against the pandemic. Strengthen the sense of belonging to the community of people who are engaged in the fight against HIV. Remember, strengthen and transmit the acquired commitments, values, past the fight against AIDS, and health as a universal good decades. Transmit to newcomers to the new generation the memory of what was done, show them that they are part of a continuum that does not mean the identical reproduction of what has been done previously, but show what are the affiliations of their current actions, their future decisions.
The AFRAVIH scientific programme (in French) include a four-day pre-conference course training, three plenary lectures, thirty oral session and long slots dedicated to discussions around 350 posters displayed communications handpicked.
